Groups of women Cooperative Society in Ekiti State named “Obirin Kete Multipurpose Cooperative Society”, an economic empowerment platform created by Her Excellency Erelu Bisi Fayemi, have declared support for the candidacy of All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship flagbearer, Mr Biodun Oyebanji with a promise to mobilize support and vote for him during Saturday’s gubernatorial poll.
The women in their colourful attire came in large numbers to the venue of the “Obirin Kete rally for BAO” held at the Ekiti Kete pavilion Ado Ekiti to show support for the party and its governorship candidate.
In her address, the convener of the Obirin Kete rally and wife of the Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi told the gathering that the APC governorship candidate Mr Biodun Oyebanji would not disappoint the masses if given the mandate to serve saying that the former secretary to the state government has impeccable character.
In their goodwill of messages, the APC Governorship Candidate’s running mate Chief Monisade Afuye, the Wife of the governorship candidate, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji and Director General of BAO Women Campaign Council Chief Oluremi Ajayi called for the women’s support to win the forthcoming governorship election.
Also, the National women leader of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Beta Eduh appealed to the women to reciprocate the good programmes of All Progressives Congress and the impacts of Erelu Fayemi with massive votes so as to ensure continuity of all the programs.
She noted that the APC is a gender-friendly party that takes the development of women seriously saying that Ekiti State is currently one of the best states in Nigeria when it comes to the protection of the rights of women and children, therefore, such should not be discontinued.
In a welcome address, the state coordinator of Obirin Kete, Mrs Toyin Adepoju noted that the women cooperative society deserved continuity hence the need to vote for APC in the coming governorship election.
The special guest of honour on the programme and the APC governorship candidate Mr Biodun Oyebanji thanked the convener Erelu Bisi Fayemi for creating and maintaining the Obinrinkete Cooperative Society in the past three years and promised to sustain the group through the First Lady’s office if voted into power.
The high point of the event was the colourful parade of the groups according to their Local Government Area.
