Onigbemo In-Council Confers Chieftaincy Title on Ekiti Assembly Deputy Speaker


The Onigbemo of Igbemo Land, Oba Adewumi Daramola, the Oyinyo Saye Igbemo II, on behalf of the Onigbemo in Council has conferred the title of Uyi Owa of Igbemo land on the Deputy Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Hakeem Jamiu for his contributions to the development of the town especially the Ilupeju-Ire-Igbemo-Ijan and the ongoing Iworoko-Are-Afao-Igbemo- roads on Saturday, August 7, he facilitated.

The traditional ruler also mentioned the recently established Ifedara LCDA with Headquarters in Igbemo and the youths and other indigenes of the town who had benefitted from him in terms of jobs and empowerment one way or the other. Jamiu was also appreciated for his efforts and those of others in ensuring that the airport project is going on smoothly.

Oba Daramola told the gathering during the Odun Omo Olope day which is a major festival in Igbemo Ekiti that the decision to honour Right Honourable Hakeem Jamiu was not his alone, but that of Onigbemo in Council as a whole because they all agreed that he is doing well as their representative and as the Deputy Speaker of Ekiti State.
