The King on a Rugged Cross

God is not a Christian, Muslim, Hinduist or Buddhist. God is with us and in us. God is not just the ultimate leader, not only did he create the universe (the heavens and the earth, and other members of the solar system), he redeemed humankind after the fall of Eden, he act as a maverick-he always lead. In the words of Albert Einstein (1879-1955), the German-born physicist, 1921Physics Nobel Laureate, “God is not playing dice with the universe”.

Beyond religions, Jesus, the first-century Jewish peasant preacher and carpenter of Nazareth who was crucified by the Roman Empire government led by Pontius Pilate and the Jewish collaborators on that Old rugged cross modelled the law of sacrifice. He modelled servant-leadership as the Messiah of the world.

Isaiah 53 describes what is often called “the exchanged life”. Jesus took our sin, pain, and failures so that we could have his righteousness, healing and victory. What we lost at the Garden of Eden was redeemed for humanity at the rugged cross of Calvary.”…But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our ubiquitous, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him. And by his stripes we are healed “(Isaiah 53:5)

Former US President Harry Truman was right when he said, “The buck stops here”. Servant-Leaders don’t pass the buck. We cannot lead without taking responsibility because everything is around leadership. Pilate committed the sin of omission and tried to wash his hands of any responsibility for his decision. He tried to get off on a legal technicality. Pilate said to the Jews, “What then shall I do to Jesus who is called Christ? “ They all said to him, “Let him be crucified!” (Matthew 27:22)

Sitting down, they kept Watching over him after they have crucified the innocent Jesus because he called himself the “Son of God” and they mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” but that is not the end of Jesus, You know the rest of the story on that morning of resurrection when the tomb is empty.

Christ in us is the hope of glory!
INRI-“In Nostros Regnis Iasos,” means “Within Ourselves Reigns Jesus “.
Christ is within nothing outside to worship.

The scandal of the particularity of our Christian faith is that we have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God.

The King nailed on that Old rugged cross is the Saviour of the world. (John 3:16).

Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Happy Good Friday!
